Sofia's Bad Day

Her whole head turned deep purple. Eggplant purple. (Aubergine purple.) And then the screaming started. She cried. I cried. Needless to say, she was not best pleased. If you haven't figured it out yet, she had her first round of vaccinations this morning and we are both glad that is behind us.

In addition to getting her 2 month vaccinations, she was also measured, weighed and generally poked at by our very nice pediatrician. We knew that our little chubbster liked her food but we didn't realize how much. She weighed in at 12 lbs 7 oz which puts her in the 95% percentile for weight! Yikes! I asked the doctor if she was an obese infant and she laughed and said that Sofia was perfectly healthy and she was glad that she was putting weight on so well. Also, she was 23 inches, putting her in the 80% percentile for height. So she is a well proportioned Amazon Baby.

Despite the weight, Antony and I are still able to lift our little butterball and here is a picture of us taking Sofia to Central Park for the first time. She slept most of the time in Auntie Jess's arms. She approved out the outing.

  1. I really need to email you a picture of my children as infants. We called Jackson the Michelin man and he weren't exaggerating!! Jackson has been over 100% in height & weight all his life! Addison finally got out of the 95%-100% when she turned 2. Enjoy all the rolls!!

  2. Heidi - yes please, send a picture of your two when they were infants. I am starting to get scared that Sofia is getting way, way too big!
